Adele Triumphs At The 2012 Grammy Awards

13 Feb

British singer and songwriter Adele stole the show at last nights Grammys scooping up 6 awards.

The awards ceremony  which celebrated the best stars in the music industry, started off as a rather sombre event due to the news of Whitney Houston’s shocking death the day before.

American Idol star Jennifer Hudson, led a moving tribute to the icon performing a cover of Whitney’s biggest hit ‘I Will Always Love You’. The musicians who were inspired by Whitney went on to be celebrated for their efforts over the last year.

After having major throat surgery last year, Adele made a massive comeback last night, managing to win every award she was nominated for as well as giving her first live performance since the surgery. The awards she received included: Best Single and Best Record for ‘Rolling In The Deep’, Album of the year for ’21’, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video for ‘Someone Like You’. Her fellow musicians seemed elated for the star giving her a standing ovation after her performance of her winning song ‘Rolling In The Deep’.

Not only did Adele wow the audience with her incredible voice, she also looked stunning in a slimming black dress and a new lighter hair-do.
