2012 Emmy Awards Fashion Extravaganzar

Last night saw the biggest names in television step out on the red carpet to attend the 64th annual Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Big winners of the evening included Showtimes’ Homeland which saw Claire Danes scoop up the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, with co-star Damian Lewis winning Best Actor in a Drama series. The show went on to pick up two more awards for Best Drama Series and Best Writing for a Drama Series. Meanwhile, ABC’s Modern Family also won four awards in the prime-time comedy category.

Away from who won what awards, lets cast an eye on what every one was wearing, for televisions most talked about night of the year…

Clare Danes

Not only was Clare the leading lady of the night, winning the prestigious Best Actress award, her choice of a bold yellow gown ensured all eyes were on her. Clare who is pregnant with her first child looked radiant on the red carpet, in this canary Lanvin statement draped gown.

Sofia Vergara

As expected Modern Family star Sofia Vergara opted for an ultra-sexy look with this figure flaunting teal beaded Zuhair Murad Couture gown. The low-cut halter neckline and open back showed off Sofia’s killer curves. The teal colour is so hot right now, with blue’s and green’s all over the catwalk with the mermaid trend.

Heidi Klum

Supermodel Heidi Klum turned heads on the red carpet in a daring Alexandre Vauthier gown. The soft sea foam colour compliments the delicate floaty fabric of the dress, whilst a plunging neckline and a daring slit in the leg makes Heidi’s toned body do all the talking.

Maria Menounos

Extra host Maria Menounos sizzled on the red carpet in this blue Grecian Oliver Tolentino gown. The bodice of the dress flashes just the right amount of cleavage, whilst, the leg split shows of Maria’s slim pins. What really makes this dress is the unique texture of the fabric, which is made from pineapple fibre!

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere opted for a look straight off the New York catwalk, with this blue and gold Marchesa gown. This was one of the most beautiful dresses of the night, which has the feel of a Grecian goddess combined with an Indian Princess. This is the perfect design for Hayden as it elongates her figure, and creates a gorgeous silhouette.

Sarah Hyland

Young Modern Family star Sarah Hyland channeled an enchanted princess at last nights ceremony, opting for this beautiful nude Marchesa gown. Sarah co-designed the dress, which has exquisite detailing to it, from the beaded straps and bust detail to the floaty wrap over skirt. Sarah’s accessories and hair-do complete the enchanted feel of the outfit, whilst dark red lipstick adds a touch of sultriness to the cute feminine look.

Giuliana Rancic

Despite only recently giving birth, E! Fashion Police star Giuliana made her return to the red carpet in this sophisticated black Romona Keveza gown. Giuliana was keen to show she has bounced back to her trim figure, choosing this dress with a thigh high leg split.

Jessica Pare

Mad Men actress Jessica Pare pulled off this daring white gown by Jason Wu. Jessica looked flawless in this sleek look, with the perfect choice of accompanying accessories and classic hair and make-up.

Tina Fey

30 Rock star Tina Fey wowed in this figure hugging Vivienne Westwood gown. The plum colour looked great against Tina’s skin-tone, whilst the black and gold brocade neckline adds detail to the plain style of the dress. Tina’s quirky up-do proves women of Tina’s age can still pull of a youthful edgy look.

Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu sparkled on the red carpet last night- literally! Lucy looked incredible in this figure hugging metallic Versace gown, made of real metal. With smokey eye-makeup and sleek hair swept over her shoulder, Lucy’s whole look was smoldering.

Emily VanCamp

Revenge actress Emily VanCamp looked beautiful in this tulle J.Mendel gown. The muted grey colour of this dress is right on trend, whilst Emily’s decision to wear her hair in a soft up-do  allowed her to show off the delicate design of the dress.

Padma Lakshmi 

The Top Chef presenter Padma Lakshmi stunned in this bold orange Monique Lhuillier Resort gown. The mermaid style dress hugs every inch of Padma’s body showcasing her slim womanly figure. The bright orange colour of the dress, looks fantastic against Padma’s olive skin-tone , whilst her lightly curled hair looks naturally beautiful.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough graced the red carpet alongside her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest, but managed to steal the limelight in this shimmering Georges Hobeika Couture dress. Again this dress channels the popular mermaid inspired trend of this season, whilst a retro hairstyle adds a fashion forward touch to complete this glamourous look.


The Best Outfits From The Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards 2012 took place in Las Vegas yesterday, with the music industries hottest stars attending the ceremony. Modern Family co-stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell hosted the star-studded event, which saw Adele scoop up an astonishing 12 awards- despite this she was absent from the ceremony. Other successes of the night included the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne.

As usual the talk of last night wasn’t just on the music. All eyes were ready to scrutinize who was wearing what, so let’s take a look at the best looks of the night…

Katy Perry

Katy Perry looked amazing last night opting for a purple theme, matching her newly dark purple locks to her dress.

The Bluemarine Fall 2012 lilac gown is covered with iridescent sequins, that shimmer in the light. The dress has a princess feel to it; Katy made the look edgier by wearing dark eyeliner and deep purple lipstick.

Taylor Swift

 Taylor was one of the best dressed at the ceremony last night in this Elie Saab gown. The bold red colour really suits Taylor, the laced bodice and floaty skirt combine two of this season’s biggest trends. Taylor finished the look with smokey eye-makeup, muted red lips and sophisticated ultra-straight hair.

Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks started the night in this nude lace Diane Von Furstenberg dress. Jordin looks amazing in this mini dress, which is sophisticated yet youthful. She teams the dress with black sandals and silver jewellery, whilst opting for a loose side ponytail. Jordin changed outfits mid-ceremony to perform her Whitney Houston tribute, and once again she impressed. This time she opted for an elegant full-length gown.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough wowed on the white carpet in this Kaufman Franco dress. This nude dress, is encrusted with silver crystals, that wrap around her trim figure. Julianne kept her accessories simple and opted for her hair in loose waves.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus opted for this risque outfit last night, and boy was she the talk of the night. Miley showed off her much talked about trimer figure in this plunging white John Paul Gaultier tuxedo. She paired the jacket with mono-chrome heels, some simple jewellery and a sexy  bouffant hair-do. Did Miley go a bit far with this outfit… perhaps- but there is no doubt that the former Disney star looked amazing.

The Grammys- All The Glamour From The Music Award Ceremony Of The Year

Last nights hotly anticipated Grammys awards ceremony was watched by the largest audience to date.

There were highs and lows of the night, from moving tributes to Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse to the celebration of Adele’s return after throat surgery.

The star-studded bash saw the hottest names in music walk down the red-carpet outside the Staples Centre. Here are those who managed to achieve the Grammy Glamour look…

Carrie Underwood

Country star Carrie Underwood sparkled down the red-carpet in a white figure-hugging dress by Gomez-Gracia. The long-sleeved dress, had a revealing cut-out back, adding an extra touch of sexiness to the look. Carrie teamed the dress with a contrasting black sequined clutch.


Star of the night Adele looked absolutely stunning in this black sparkly Armani gown, which showed off a more trim figure. Adele screamed old-Hollywood glamour with her thick lashes, bold red lipstick and new lighter blonde bouffant hair-do.

 Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift looked amazing in this sparkly gold embellished gown by Zuhair Murad. The high neck and cap sleeves, make this dress unique, whilst the pale and gold tones stay on trend. Taylor opted for a sleek up hair-do in in contrast to the busy gown.

Paris Hilton

 Not usually known to appear on a best dressed list, Paris Hilton surprised crowds with this elegant white and gold dress by Basil Soda. She accompanied the dress with simplistic accessories and hair and make-up.

Julianne Hough

Singer and actress Julianne Hough look great last night in this black dress by Kaufman Franco. Julianne made a great choice by having loose hair with this strapless number creating detail around the otherwise plain neckline.
