Tulisa Sizzles In ‘Live It Up’ Music Video

21 Aug

Tulisa has unveiled the music video for her new single ‘Live It Up’ which features American rapper Tyga.

The video see’s Tulisa live up to her FHM Sexiest Female title, flaunting her enviable figure in an array of skimpy beach outfits in the sunshine of Hawaii. Later in the video Tulisa and a group of friends party the night away on the beach, with Tulisa showing off some sexy dance moves whilst Tyga performs his rap verse.

The track has a summery feel to it with a slight Caribbean influence. Although it may not be a huge dance floor hit like ‘Young’, ‘Live It Up’ is the perfect song for relaxing on a lazy summers day.

‘Live It Up’ is due to be released in the UK on September 10th, and will feature on Tulisa’s debut solo album which is expected to follow this Autumn.

The X Factor UK- Live Show 1

9 Oct

The first live show of this years X Factor went underway last night, and unsurprisingly it was one of the best shows in X Factor history.

The four judges seemed perfectly at home on the panel and as the show progressed the tension and competitive nature of the stars grew.

Each of the judges four acts performed one track and rather controversialy the judges will choose which one of their acts they think should leave the competition on tonight’s show rather than it being down to the public vote.

In general the standard of performances last night were high.

In the boys category, the weakest performances came from Frankie Cocozza, who not only had the weakest vocals out of the boys, he also seemed to let nerves get to him- perhaps it was the eye liner that made him feel uncomfortable. Marcus Collins and James Michael both gave strong performances and received praise from most of the judges. However, the stand out boy had to be Craig Colton, who sang an amazing rendition of Christina Perri’s ‘Jar Of Hearts’. Watch and listen to his performance below…

For the girls, again the four acts pulled off strong performances for a first live show. Amelia Lily kicked off the show with a confident performance, however by the time Misha and Janet had sung, her performance was somewhat forgettable. Personally, Janet had the edge over Misha, with her chilling rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’. Listen to it below….

The groups are traditionally a weak category, but this year Tulisa has done a fairly good job. Rhythmix started it off for the girls, with a great performance of Nicki Minaj’s ‘Superbass’ and the girls really looked like a young current band, the only negative was that the girls rapping was slightly weak. 2 shoes, pulled out a solid performance, but boyband Nu Vibe failed to pull off the vocals or dance moves to their song. The group which stood out had to be The Risk with their performance of Plan B’s ‘She Said’, watch that performance below…

Finally the over 25’s as predicted were the weaker of the four categories with Johnny, Jonjo and Kitty all giving rather underwhelming performances. Luckily for Louis, Sami Brookes pulled off arguably the best vocals of the night. Watch her performance below…

The show will be back tonight, with the judges making the difficult decision as to who was the weakest act from their group and should leave the competition.

Urban Acts Team Up For Children In Need Video- ‘Teardrops’

7 Oct

The music video for this years Children In Need charity single has just been unvieled.

The single is a cover of Massive Attack’s hit ‘Teardrops’ reworked by top UK producer Labrinth.

X Factor judge and Take That member Gary Barlow is the man behind the single, teaming up some of the UK hottest urban acts for the track. The video see’s Chipmunk, Ed Sheeran, Tinchy Stryder, Wretch 32, Rizzle Kicks, Dot Rotten, Ms Dynamite and Mz Bratt join N-Dubz star and X Factor judge Tulisa, who sings the chorus of the song. Gary Barlow also appears in the video although his vocals are not on the track.

The group of young stars who appear on the song have been named The Collective by Gary Barlow for this single. ‘Teardrop’ will be released on November 13th, all profits from the song will go to the Children In Need charity.

The X Factor 2011 Episode 3

4 Sep

The new series of The X Factor is under full swing with three episodes now under its belt.

Last nights show, at first seemed a bit underwhelming compared to the previous week’s show which saw an array of serious contenders audition. As usual last night, there were several awful auditions (one in particular from a rather ‘chavy’ girl-group, who weren’t afraid to speak their minds) and as Simon Cowell would say some rather ‘mediocre’ performances. However a show stopping moment did finally come from the last audition by Jade Richards.

The young girl from Fife in Scotland, doesn’t look like your conventional pop star however from the VT’s build up there was an inkling that her audition was going to be something special. Bravely, choosing to sing Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, Jade blew the judges and audience away, with her strong, soulful voice. To make the perfomance even more emotional, Jade’s gran was watching with Dermot backstage, welling-up with pride at her grand-daughter’s performance. Kelly Rowland, didn’t hold back with her emotions either, barely unable to speak as she was moved to tears, fellow judge Louis who is a massive Adele fan, also welled-up.

Jade’s amazing auditon is sure to make her one of the new favourites for the show, and her humble personality is only going to help her more. If there is one thing that could hold her back, it is perhaps her similarity to Adele. It will be interesting to hear Jade perform something else and differentiate herself from Adele.

The X Factor 2011- Episode 2

28 Aug

The second episode of the new series of The X Factor got underway last night, and once again it managed to tick every box.

Kelly Rowland seemed to steal the show last night, with her flirtatious antics with the male contestants, and a slightly crazed fan confessing his love for her whilst pulling off a fairly decent performance.

Once again Gary’s matter-of-fact manner strangely seemed to work and even Louis managed to get in a few witty comments (my favourite would be: “Oh so you are a Girl?” to the slightly manly looking contestant).

Unlike last weeks episode, which only had one stand out performance from Janet Devlin, the talent last night was strong.

The first act which made a big impact was biscuit factory worker Craig Colton, who performed Adele’s ‘Melt My Heart To Stone’. The judges and audience clearly hadn’t learnt about the Su-Bo factor (that you do not need to look like a model to have a great voice), as when Craig walked on stage none of them looked very hopeful. However, as soon as he started the song everyone was silenced by his soulful voice.

We finally saw a good group performance last night from Boyband The Keys. The five lads sung a unique rendition of Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’, impressing the judges with their harmonies, charisma and style.

Finally, arguably the best performance from the night, came from the last contestant, 19 year-old Misha Bryan. She sung a rendition of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’, blowing away the judges and viewers with her mature and powerful voice. Just when you thought her audition couldn’t get any better, she went on to rap, giving Nicki Minaj a run for her money. The social networks went crazy after Misha’s performance was aired, making her the new favourite to win the show.

X Factor Judges Homes Details Revealed

20 Aug

As the first episode of The X Factor 2011 starts tonight, naturally details of the upcoming episodes have been popping up online.

Rumors of the celebrity helpers who will accompany the judges at their homes in the later audition stages have been circulating. They are said to include Robbie Williams to help fellow Take That band member Gary Barlow, Usher to help Kelly Rowland, Tinie Tempah to help Tulisa Contostavlos and finally Sinitta to be helping Louis Walsh.

I can’t help but thinking once again Louis has drawn the short straw, however I’m sure viewers would miss Sinitta prancing around in various ridiculous swimsuits and large hats if she wasn’t there to lend her musical hand.

Viewers will have to wait until September when the judges home’s stage airs on TV to know the exact pairings and locations of filming. Until then be sure to catch the first round of the show, which starts tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
